It was all too good to be true. Rodoh sat on a chair in his room, still trying to cope with the sudden good news. Finally, after 3 months of effort, he was dead. Spectro was in the next world now, and out of his way forever. He stood up, and looked around the place, for no particular reason at all. It was dimly lit by a lamp at his wall, and the sunrise outside did nothing to help either. The red carpet went well with the red walls, red curtains and red bedding that furnished his room.
He knew he had to march now or never. He had 75 men waiting at his command, one word and the city could be his. Still, he had to plan. Skyhill was strong, and had withstanded armies twice the size of his. Still, he felt certain he could breach it now. He walked out of his room and down the stairs. He was glad he had the mansion built; with a full 20 acres of land, he could house a barracks for his men and still have plenty of space left.
At the bottom of the stairs were his 3 elites. They were his highest generals, chosen for their specific set of skills. They were waiting in the main lobby, as he had commanded the earlier day.
"Perfect. I won't waste time with petty greetings, because we've got alot to do." The plan was complicated, but it might just work.
"We'll handle it like this. Axel, you'll take the left flank forward, ahead of the rest. Circle to the side and make camp. Do not perform any attack whatsoever. If they attack you, simply kill the attacker, and move to a different location. After about an hour Satoshi, you'll take the middle flank. Direct all attacks to the watchmen, and make breaches in defense. Finally, you, Velon, take the right flank and push into the central city. Performed right, it'll be ours in a single day."
As he relayed the strategy, Rodoh couldn't help but feel a shred of excitement. Finally, it could be done. He'd take Skyhill and use it's technology to return to the island. Thoughts of the island, however, broke his excitement immediatly. The operation... the crystal... Banishing the thoughts from his head, he left his Elites to discuss the plan. He had to tae a break.
The gardens were quite beautiful. Rodoh never spent much time having it built, more focused on the mansion instead, but either way, they still had a natural beauty to them. They spanned about 2 acres, most of which was plain land, besides a large lake nearby the mansion. The lake was always incredibly calm. Even when it would rain, or when wind would blow. Still, his ambitions had no time for childish things. He had a city to take over.
He walked along the garden path, and back through the mansion into his room. He had to be prepared for the day. Opening his drawer, Rodoh examined his equipment. He had many types of guns, armors, and explosives, but he'd need more than that. At the bottom of the drawer was his specially built uniform. It was leather, reinforced by steel beneath it, with spacing between parts to allow full flexibility.
He quickly pulled on the uniform, and grabbed a standard M249 machine gun, and exited the room.
"Velon, assemble the men outside. I have to prepare a speech." Velon nodded, and left the area. Rodoh sat for a while and thought. He had to think of something to say, quickly. Velon would assemble the men of course, but they couldn't be motivated to fight so easily.
After thinking of what to say, he got up. His other 2 elites would be outside now with the troops. Straightening up, and memorizing his speech through his head, he left the building. Outside, 75 able fighters stood attentively, guns over the back, faces blank of expression. They were gathered in a perfect formation, 5 rows of 15. Seeing them filled him with both confidence, and a strange sense of dread. He stepped up to a microphone. There was nothing left but to speak.
"Men. You stand here in my service, the same way you have for 7 months now. This unswerving loyalty is what will ensure our victory tonight. Yes, friends, tonight there will be a battle, and tonight we will win. We will smash their defenses, and assure ourself control. Every one of you is a true, great man, and you will all swim in the wealth of victory. For tonight, I take great joy in saying that we, as a glorious power, will take the city of Skyhill."
