Prolouge: A loud booming noise can be heard off in the distance. "Quickly, we have to get out of here!" The booming gets louder as the world focuses it's attention on two of the survivors of the Great War. Their breathing gets heavier, echoing off the deep chasm. They start to jolt with energy, throwing all caution to the wind. "I'm trying my hardest, brother. We cannot best this wall." "Don't give up, we've gone too far in to give up!" A small crack. "Dammit, move you stupid piece of rock!" The boulder falls down into a deep dark hole. "How much further?" The boy points forward. "We'll make a left at that tunnel. I swore, father buried the chest there.." "Alright. Let's get moving, this place is starting to shake." The two come to a complete stop as the chest is smaller than they anticipated. They look at it, surveying it, taking in all the knowledge about what could be so precious in such a small package. "You really think he held it in here?" "Why the hell not? You know how Dad is, he's deceptive when it comes to power." "But this.. this is just.." "What? Afraid of a small white chest?" That's right. The chest is small, white. As it had not been touched or even affected by the rubble for as long as it has been buried. Magical essence begins to leak from the chest as the boy cracks to take a peek. But instead of treasure, the little boy is enveloped in a blue light and launched backwards, hitting the side of the cave. The room begins to crumble as a roar can be heard from the chasm. "Oh, Shit! Zarec, grab your gear, we're busting out of here!", the girl screeches. But the boy does not respond. "Zarec? Zarec?" The boy is hit over the side of the head as he regains his composure. "Ow, dammit.." "WE NEED TO GO!" " ?" A huge breath is heard right behind the two humans. As they slowly turn around, fear takes control of their bodies as they stare into the eyes of their opponet. The Black Demon of the Abyss has shown himself for the first time since the Great War has started. "Who dares touch the box of Shec, Knight of Cliffhaven?" The demon demands an answer. But he does not get a response.. The boy is enveloped in the blue light again as he falls over and faints. The demon moves closer in, to take the boy of the blue light and drag him into the void that is the darkness. But before he can, the mountain begins to shake. The demon screeches, and rushes back into the void. The gate in which the two twins are stuck in begins to collapse in on them as the girl takes the boy on her back and begins to dash out. Will she make it? The world could never confirm that she got out all by herself. A yellow beam began destroying the mountain and the twins are lifted high into the center of it. An explosion fires off beneath their feet as a godlike figure stands across the land, staff held high in the air, glowing with the same yellow light. "Out of all the things.. I'd never imagine I'd have to see the day where I save the Privelaged Children of Jlleia..", the figure booms. He then vanishes with a single gust of wind as the twins are whirled away in the wind as well.. And so our story begins.. Please. Leave your comments in another thread. This thread is for the posting of the story only. More will come in the future, and thanks for reading my first chapter published on this website of my brand new novel: The Eternal Saga.

Chapter 1: The Awakening.
Where am I..
A man opens his eyes. He is blinded by the brilliance of a shining blue light, filling the surrounding area with light. He waits.. and then the sea roars like a wild animal that has just been spotted by a hunter, tossing and thrashing about.
I'm underwater..
The current tosses the man from side to side, flipping him over and over. He tosses and turns freely into the waves before finding something unusual, something magical. His eyes dart towards a shining blue light, coming from a cavern under the sea. Doubtful of what is to come, he begins to swim directly into the light, picking up speed. But right before he can reach it, a black shadow creeps up from behind him..
The man turns around to see a black demon stretching over him, it's eyes glowing red. Blood covers it's claws and talons, and silver patches are seen across it's devilike wings.
"Why do you never learn.. stop searching for the relics, and join me. Or die. The choice is yours, Zarec Matsumoya."
The man known as Zarec looks into the hellspawn's eyes, and remarks with a counterstatement:
"You know where I stand on joining forces, you vile beast. You just want the relics for yourself. Every time I find one, you swoop in behind me, acting all tough like you can kill me. But I just turn around, and then you just give up on the relic. Now, may I ask, why the hell do you keep stalking me, Nais?"
Nais, the Darkbringer, readies his talons for attack. Zarec pulls out his sword, but before he can, the hellspawn slices the human's left side, leaving him weakened, and flies off, as a bigger shadow appears behind the man.
Zarec turns around to find his worst nightmare... The Demon of The Abyss stands in front of him, mouth wide open. It screeches, leaving the mere human immobilized.
"Your end is near.. now.. DIIIIEEEEEEEE!!!!!"
Zarec yelps as he sees his own arm getting ripped off of his body..
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
A dog flies across the room as Zarec jumps out of bed, checking to see if his arm is gone. He discovers it in it's rightful place: on his body. He looks at the dog, who is cowered in a corner with fear.
"Did I fling you again, boy? Sorry. Come here, you know I love you.." "WUFF WUFF!!"
The dog jumps into his arms as it licks the man's face.
"Haha, I know boy. I'll be back soon, okay? I need to go speak with the Elder of our village. I had that dream again.."
Zarec picks up his gear and walks out of his little home. He stands back to admire the view: A nice small wooden home that looks like a dome. It sits up on a hill overlooking a little stream and a waterfall, that leads on to a lake. Not a tree, a person for a mile. But the animals are roaming like they usually do.. Playing with each other in the meadows that are spread across the landscape.
Dad would have been so proud of me, if he knew what I've built and the land that I have found. The nature here is as natural as beauty can get. Now, I've lolligagged for much too long now. I need to go speak with Elder Elderene.. she must know what I keep dreaming of..
"What are you dreaming of, boy?"
Zarec darts his eyes behind him. A small old lady is standing right behind him, staring into his inner soul, listening to the thoughts running through his mind.
God, she's so creepy..
"I know I'm creepy and all.. but I thought I heard your soul say you wanted to talk to me.. so I rushed over here as quickly as I could." "Fourteen Miles?" "Yes. I wasn't called the Lightning Runner for nothing back in the day.. you know me. I can move fast. So, tell me child.. what is it that you seek?"
Lady Elerdine summons a little bit of furniture for the two to sit on as they talk. Zarec sits down and begins confessing his thoughts to the Elder, about his dreams involving The Demon from The Abyss..
"I see.. actually, I ran here to tell you some bad news, Zarec.." "Hm?" Lady Elerdine looks into Zarec's eyes with a worrysome face. "Your nightmares are real. We have reason to believe the great evil that haunts you is manifesting itself in this world.. and it's stronger than any of us could have ever imagined." Zarec is shaken. His whole world begins to stop as he takes in the reality of the situation: He's coming. Here. His world. To rule it. To destroy it. Or something.
"Any word from Sheba?"
Zarec throws the question about his sister onto the table. As one of the two twins, he constantly worries about his sibling that lives in the town where the Elder resides. "I'm afraid she has been missing for three days now. Nobody's seen her, and nobody's heard from her. It's like.. she just vanished.." Zarec pauses again, shaken up. He's almost in tears.
"Mind if I interrupt?"
A man from the shadows appears right in front of Zarec. His cloak is black, his hat is black, his pants and shirt as well. A black blade emits a glow from his back. He is known as Shikara, Knight of the Night. His duties include scouting suspicion that may or may not decide the fate of Jlleia. He then warns the nearest elder or the nearest individual on what they need to do.
"Zarec. I'm here to speak with you. It's about him." "Him?" "Your father. His soul is wandering this world. I saw it with my own eyes not too long ago. He told me he would be here tomorrow to inform you on the entire matter at hand. I'm very sure Elderine has told you as much as she can at the moment. But for now, take a rest. You need it."
"He's still alive?" "No. He is dead. But someone from above has allowed him to return for three days, in exchange for offering up his vote for the next bill that the heavens decide to pass."
Elderine and Shikara both look at each other and nod. Then the furniture dissappears, and so do they. The light in the sky begins to grow dimmer as dusk is on it's way. Zarec begins to walk into his home when he's stopped by a black shadow. He turns around to find an image of himself standing there. It says:
"Are you awake to what you are about to endure now?" Zarec responds with a nod. "Good. It's about time you awakened. Your father will be here in twelve hours. Eat, and get some rest. What he has to say is very important." "I will." The image vanishes as Zarec walks into his home and plops down on the couch. He flips open his notebook and begins to draw..
Thank you guys for reading, and I hope you enjoy my new series!

Chapter 2: The Quest Begins
Zarec looks down at the beautiful picture he's drawn. It's a picture of what he remembers his dad last looking like. He's very tall with jet black hair that curves out at the top, making it look like he's been running in the wind. His eyes are blue, his nose sharp. His skin is fair, not too light but not too dark, either. He seems to be wearing one piece, like a wetsuit that's made out of cloth, with a black belt keeping it together in the middle. On his back, what seems to be a gigantic blade on his back is poking out of it's proper sheath. He admires the drawing as he puts it up on the wall. He stands back, and begins to see the gunk he got on his hands by erasing so much to try to get it perfect.
As he walks into his bathroom, he stares at the mirror. He pauses, and stares in with shock. The man he so delicately drew looks a lot like himself. He laughs hysterically, and goes onwards to eat the meat of a wild boar he hunted awhile ago. As he sits down, his dog barks.
"Easy, Sarak, it's probably just the wind.."
Sarak barks again, as if he's warning Zarec. But he doesn't acknowledge the presence moving towards him, until Sarak begins to whimper and the sky begins to darken. The clouds settle in and a continuious beam of lighting continues to strike one place, and the sky looks like someone just split a gigantic sword into it with ease.
A figure emerges from where the lightning strikes. He looks like he's quite tall, much larger than Zarec is. His hair looks unusual: grey straight hair with a small beige tunic on and carrying a small wooden staff, which seems to be emitting a faint blue light. The figure's voice booms:
"Prince Zarec Matsumoyo of the Jlleian Royal Family, please open your door. I would like to speak with you before the storm comes in.."
Zarec is stunned. He yells back in sudden confusion: "I am no prince, but my name is Zarec. But it's not Matsumoyo, it's Oyomustam.."
"Apologies. But please, Zarec. Open your doors."
Zarec opens his front door awkwardly and very slowly, wondering who in heavens' name could be visiting him at such an early time in the morning. His father wasn't supposed to arrive until another hour.
"I have come here in the news of His Highness.."
"Enough with the Royal Stuff, Ces."
Zarec looks behind him. A figure that is much much taller and his head is almost hitting the ceiling on stands behind him. He looks like Zarec, but he has grey flowing hair in the back and he carries on him a massive blade that's wrapped up with a long white ribbon, protecting the blade from harm.
The much taller man standing behind Zarec smirks and laughs.
"Don't be so suprised, squirt. I almost didn't recognize you, you've grown up so much since I've last seen you. How long has it been, seventeen years? You're 21 now, right?"
Zarec is confused.
"Don't you get it, boy? It's your old man. I still age, even when I'm dead."
Zarec just stands there, stunned. His father finally showed himself for the first time since he was just a little boy.
"Dad.."
"But I have limited time. Perhaps we can reminisce about the days I was alive some other time, but for right now, we need to discuss what might save the heavens for good. Let's go inside and sit down."
Zarec leads his father and Ces into his home and begins telling them how he built it himself, how he found this land for himself, and how he's been surviving on his own for the last five years. His father seems proud, but disarrayed at the situation. They finally wind down and the dad begins:
"Son, you may have already talked about it once.. but Nagisikra, Dark Overlord of Nazereth, is plotting the end of Heaven. You have only faced one of four of his generals that we know of. He may have more. The Demon of the Abyss, aka Nakesheka, is the strongest of them all. Please be careful if you encounter him again."
"Yes, Father."
"Shec, the artifacts?"
Shec, the father of Zarec, looks at Ces with an attitude.
"I was getting to that. Anyway, there are many artifacts to be found. We need at least four of them to take away the required power to send forces to heaven in which we would not be able to stop."
Zarec looks over what has gone on.
"So my quest is.. take out a bunch of bad generals, take the artifacts, give them to Ces to take to heaven, and try to stop the battle of good vs evil from happening and destroying the world, right?"
"Yep. And if you succeed in doing that, you may also be rewarded with one wish. So will I, and Ces, for our thanks. Now, if you need any armors, Sheba's currently dating a blacksmith, who's father happens to be the Blacksmith of the Skies. I'll bring you some gear to start out with. And if you manage to retrieve anything that may look very valueable and very suspicious, please don't hesitate to bring it back. That includes, armor that the general may be wearing, or captain armor, or ingots, or anything of the sort. Here's a magical bag for doing just that, which makes the item weigh nothing. That will help you with terrain, in case you have to run or jump. That should be all, besides the heaventransporter. It should be in that pocket on the side. Throw it into the air to communicate with me if you have any questions, or toss it on the ground and put the bag on top of it to call Ces to pick up the items. He can travel through worlds, I can only do it this time because I have permission. Now. Do you understand or have any questions?"
"Yes Dad. I understand. Just one thing. Maybe some time, can you visit me again? I miss you."
"Aww, son. Maybe some time. Now, go save the world."
"Yes sir!"
Zarec begins to dash out his door when he realizes he hears a small clinking sound in the bag. He opens it up to find a gigantic sword, much like the one Shec is carrying. There is also some small plated armor, fit enough for Zarec to wear in combat. He smiles as his new look goes from heroic countryside look to Knight-in-the-Shining-Armor look. But of course, his helmet is not on yet, because he doesn't feel he needs it quite yet. He likes it when his hair flows in the wind, that's just natural to him. Speaking of which, he dashes off into the rising sun. His quest to save the world has just begun..

Chapter 3: The Tides
A dog begins to bark in the distance. As it approaches, it begins to sound happier and happier as the sky begins to brighten. A new day has begun.
A screeching sound halts the dog and a tall man dressed in a knight outfit runs up behind him. He begins to draw the gigantic sword hanging on his back, when he is stopped again by another screech. It appears to be coming from the skies, screeching louder and louder every time. The next time it screeches, the man hears:
"Save me, Zarec!"
It's his sister's voice. She's floating in the sky, surrounded by an army of demons in flight, and at the helm, the infamous general of them all. One look, and Zarec is frozen with fear. He cannot move. He can only stare as his twin is carried off to the ocean. Realizing what he must do, he begins to dash after them when he is thrown onto a horse that picked him up. The horse begins to speak to him:
"You running after her, too?"
Zarec looks around. "Who said that?"
"The horse you're riding. I'll ask again, are you chasing her?"
"Yes. That's my sister."
"Which makes you Zarec, right?"
Zarec pauses.
"Friend of my sister?"
"Boyfriend."
"Well, this is an awkward first meet. But let's go save her. Also, why is my sister dating a horse?"
"I was transformed by that goblin mage heading the army. Thankfully he turned me into something I'm used to riding."
"So you're a calvarysmen and a blacksmith?"
"Yes."
"You're a black cavalier?"
"Quite literally, yes."
A long pause in dialog is the result of the awkward situation in which has just been created. The silence is broken when the army takes a dive into the ocean ahead of them.
"They're taking her to the Cavern."
"The Cavern?"
"Yeah. it's this elaborate maze. We went there on our first date. I can show you around."
"Sweet."
They begin to dash towards the enterance to the underground cavern under the sea when the horse kicks Zarec off of him and they dash in together.
"You can fight, right?"
"I don't really know.."
"You don't?"
"It's been sixteen years since I've fought a demon. I'm used to hunting, though."
"Heh. Alright then, show me what you've got. You need to toughen up and go save your sister. I'll be leading you to the center of the maze. That's probably where she will be guarded for the time being. I'm still trying to figure out why they're here though.."
"Hm. We'll just have to see if we can get that information."
The tides roar fiercely as a yellow beam is shot out of the ocean. A bunch of demonic figures come flying out of the water, carrying fish with them as they're shot to land, being killed upon impact of the ground.
"Let's go. That beam looked suspicious."
"Right!"
The horse and man dash into the cavern. As they go in, the horse realizes it wasn't the same as it was before.
"Shit! They changed the maze."
"So you don't know where you're going?"
"No."
Two choices. Right or Left? You decide! Feel free to post which way you think Zarec should go in my Compliments Thread. I'll be uploading the next chapter periodically based off of your answer!

Chapter 3: The Maze
"Hurry, dash to the right!"
Zarec and the horse dash as fast as they can. The walls around them begin to shatter with a yellow pulse of energy, leaving nothing but heiroglyphics on the ground.
"Left! Go Left!" Zarec tries to make a sharp left and pratfalls onto his face. The horse picks him up by his teeth and tosses him onto his back. "God, you're a klutz. Now I understand why your sister is.", the horse pokes. "Hey, shut up, I'm not the one who's a horse right now", says Zarec.
They move onward but then are stopped when they spot a large horde of goblin soldiers carrying nothing but oak clubs. This looks easy for Zarec, but then he realizes what's in the middle: a goblin shaman with a large wooden staff that brims with the yellow pulses.
"They're here. Go on, minions, show them the true power of the Goblin Empire!"
The horde of goblins surrounds the hero and his horse as they prepare for battle. Zarec unequips his large sword from his back, and as he does so, it drops to the ground. It begins shaking with a blue light. Then, as if some god were controlling it, placed it back into Zarec's hands. He is now glowing with a light blue aura, ready to cut and slice. But the horse has a headstart.
Out of nowhere, the horse begins kicking goblins in the face, smashing them against walls and into others of their comerades. Zarec looks at him, and simply stands back.
"Uhh, yeah, take that! Heh! Hah, Hiiiya! Heheheh, too close! Oh no you don't, Cya sucka, fly away, goblin incoming, STRIIIIKE, Oh, now that is just, oh wait hi, and that's the last one, right? Oh, wait, there's more. TAKE THIS, HORSE KICKS! BWAHAHAHA!! How ya like me now, huh?"
Zarec sheathes his sword and continues to glow with a blue light. The horse meets back up with Zarec with goblin blood on his hooves. "Nevermind, kid, you don't need to fight. Even as a horse, I still kick a lot of ass." "Whatever, let's just go."
The goblin shaman stands right in the middle of the maze, where a gigantic staff that looks like the Elders is pointing a yellow beam at the sky. Zarec goes to walk near it, and his aura becomes more blue. The goblin shaman notices this and shudders with the reply: "A thousand years it took for the boy to walk the earth.. not as a man, but as the son of a god.."
Zarec pauses. "What are you getting at?" The goblin shaman replies: "Don't you understand? You're not just a mere human who's been blessed by the gods. Your father? He himself is a god. Shecizan, The King of all Gods. Yet, he cannot control the man I serve. Nagisaka."
Zarec thinks. Nagisaka cannot be controlled by my father? Then, how do I stop him?
It's simple, kid. You can't.
Zarec turns around. A large shadowy figure appears from underneath the ground and lands, outstretching its wings and lands with a fearsome roar. The horse is startled and starts yelling for Zarec to get out of there. But he cannot move.
A long time I have waited for you to mention me without a barrier. I can find you whenever I choose to. Now, it's been 16 years since I've last seen you. I must thank you for awakening me all this time ago. I've been building up my empire, waiting to strike your father down to the pits of the hell in which I rule. He will understand what it feels like, to be inferior. He will know the pain he has caused me for locking me away over a thousand years ago for killing his son, who would have overthrown him and caused chaos. But now? I don't care of the skies. I want to see everything Shec made and watch it burn. And if you get in my way, kid? I'll have no choice but to rip you apart. You understand?
"Master! Thank heavens you're here! This man here is.." QUIET, FOOL! The goblin is tossed against the wall, and explodes into a thousand pieces. He drops his staff, which the horse runs over and touches. He picks it up with his teeth and places it in the holster sitting near the big staff in the middle of the room.
And at last, I will have my.. Hey wait, what are you doing? Stop that at once! Do not place that staff into that.. "Too late, shadowy man. Already done." YOU FOOL! THAT WILL DESTROY THE PLACE! "Welp, better run then." The horse picks up the staff by his teeth and runs over to Zarec, who takes it in his hand and rides out of the maze on the horse. As soon as they make it out, the maze emits a yellow explosion as a large shadowy figure moves over the water, barely escaping the blast radius of the explosion. The horse and Zarec both watch.
"So, horse guy, what's your name?" "Charlie. Pleased to meet you?" "Wait, Charlie the Ironskinned?" "Yes, sir." "Incredible! So, how'd you meet my sister?" "More like how wouldn't I? She's an amazing person."
"I know I am."
Zarec and Charlie both turn around and look at the girl.
TO BE CONTINUED....
