For many many year, on the plant Rashon, dragons and elves work together. There are million different kind of dragons, and each Dragon has a rider, though not all elves are riders. Riders are the dragons master, their soles were born intertwined. Each type of Dragon has its own personality, and the rider has the exact same.
Fire dragons are fearsome beasts, they are the strong bold protectors of Rashon. They serve the queen, and fight in many wars. They do not get along well with most other dragons, and are very dominate. They thirst for blood, yet can keep control of their emotions most of the time.
Water dragons are the peace keepers. They normally work with the ground, grass and weather dragons. Since they are much to busy taking care of other elements they do not carry a specific job, and does what needs to be done.
Electric dragons are feisty. They cause lots of trouble and gets into many fights. They normally choose a career in sports or entertainment.
Ground dragons are sturdy. They can be stubborn, yet are very kind. Their riders generally work as engineers, black smiths, and architects. Though most take ground as being dirt, they also control metals, and all other minerals.
Grass dragons are very shy and peaceful. They work as gardeners and sometimes cooks. They get side tracked easily, and loves to go for walks. They control all plants, not just grass.
Weather dragons are very pushy. They demand a lot, and gives nothing in return. They control the weather, and often times works as sales men or women.
Herb dragons are the most gullible type. They are the only Dragon who are at all times to small to be ridden. Some dragons can take on a smaller size and take one their full size when ready to be ridden, but not herb. They make medicines and work mainly in the medical field.
Though there are a million types of dragons, the last one you need to know for now is the Shadow dragon. These are very rare, and only one is born into each generation. They are always female, and each shadow dragon's rider is next in line to be queen. They are calm and loving, and are very good leaders. They have the ability to control the same elements as the fire, water, electric, ground, grass, and weather dragons. They can become very dangerous if made mad.
Families aren't chosen by what kid the elf has, but by the dragons. For example, if a fire elf (a rider of a fire Dragon) gives birth to a herb dragon, then the herb elf is trained and sometimes raised by the rider of the newly born's dragon's father. Sometimes the true father or mother will keep their child and have them trained by their parent.
Two more things you must know. Dragon species do not mix. Meaning if a fire Dragon and water dragon have a child, that Dragon would either be a water of fire Dragon depending on the gender of the child. So if the mother was water, and the child was a girl then she would be born a water dragon. If the Dragon is a boy and the father is a fire Dragon then the child would be a fire Dragon.
And lastly, there has never been a human rider. There is a legend that the day will come when a blue fire Dragon is born and its rider will be human, but such a day has not reached the people, of course, that's where our story begins.
